Specialist accent training for speakers of other languages who want to communicate clearly and fluently in English.
Join Helen and Sarah for a four week group coaching program, to take your pronunciation to the next level.
Native speakers don’t speak English the way you learn it in a text book.
Conversation moves fast, and words sound different together than when you learn them on their own. This is because all native speakers follow a set of speaking rules that might seem a complete mystery to you when you don't know how they work.
We call it connected speech.
In this program we teach you the secrets of connected speech so you'll finally be able to understand how English pronunciation works in the real world. And be confident to apply these rules for yourself.
In just four weeks you'll be able to take your accent to the next level and express yourself clearly and confidently every single time you speak.
If you've been speaking English for a while but still don't
sound fluent, this is the course for you!
Use this section of the page to show how the future would be different for your potential student, if they follow your program or train with you.

In this four week program we focus on the key skills and knowledge you need to:
You might not believe you can change your accent. But we're here to tell you the good news - you definitely can!
With the right specialist guidance you'll be able to identify the most common pronunciation problems that get in the way of you being understood. And finally fix them!
So you can do business, build relationships and achieve your goals in English more easily (even if you've been struggling with your accent for years).
Pronunciation training often focusses on sounds or words in isolation. This might seem like a straightforward approach, but we know - and you know - that’s not how language works in the real world!
Things often end up sounding very different face to face or on the phone, from how you learnt them in a class. People don't say things the way you expect, and it's hard to understand them and make yourself understood.
This is because real speech is connected speech. And connected speech follows its own rules.
In this course we help you understand HOW and WHY the rules of connected speech work the way they do. And how you can apply them yourself.
You’ll finally understand why native speakers of English pronounce certain things the way they do. You'll be able to start hearing patterns, and recognise how words work together in connected speech. And you’ll understand what changes you can make, to help your English flow more comfortably to express yourself clearly.
So you can level up your pronunciation and comprehension from ‘very good’ to OUTSTANDING!
In this program Helen and Sarah guide you through the main rules of speaking clearly in English. You will learn about:
As part of a group coaching experience you will be part of a community that includes:
INTRODUCTION & STRESS & INTONATION
Rhythm, stress and intonation.
These are such important areas to work on to make people understand WHAT YOU MEAN, rather than just literally the words you're saying.
Finding the rhythm of English is absolutely essential if you want to sound fluent. In this unit, you will learn how emphasis works in English, and how to apply this to your speech.
LINKING SOUNDS
Sometimes you'll hear that English speakers sometimes add in sounds between words to help them flow together better. BUT WHICH SOUNDS AND WHY?!
In this unit, you will learn rules of linking vowels and consonants, including linking /r/, intrusive /r/, intrusive /j/, intrusive /w/ and when you should and shouldn't release final consonants!
CHANGING SOUNDS
Have you noticed how sometimes when native speakers say a word it doesn't sound anything like it's "supposed" to? Sometimes, things are pronounced totally differently ('donchew' for 'don't you' anybody?!).
In this unit we'll teach you when these crazy rules apply, and show you how to apply them to your own speech.
PUTTING IT TOGETHER - FLUENCY IN ACTION
In this unit we explore why some sounds sometimes completely disappear! We'll show which sounds this applies to, and when.
We will also show you our tried and tested methods for breaking old speech habits, and building new ones. We'll give you simple exercises to integrate these new patterns into your speech and start really levelling up your fluency!
This course is suitable for all Intermediate and above learners and will reference British and American English accent models. We are British, so that’s our default accent, but we will also model things that are distinctly different in American English. Courses will be recorded and available to download if you can’t attend at the scheduled live time.

Work On Your Accent, is published by Collins and now in its’ second edition.
Our goal on this course is to help you understand how English changes from words on a page into connected speech conversations so you can speak confidently and clearly without simplifying your language.

This course is for you if you regularly speak in English, but it isn’t your first language. Anyone who would like to understand the ways that the language works in the real world, when spoken at pace, will benefit from this course.
This is the ideal course for learners who speak English at an advanced level. We will be covering the subtle nuances of connected speech, that only really come into effect when you’re speaking at speed. We find that this material is very useful for high-level students. And, if after the first lesson you find that it’s not right for you, you can always cancel and receive a complete refund. No questions asked.
This material is going to help your English level get higher! We find that people often underestimate their abilities in English, so why not give it a try? If you find that you’re not able to keep up, we offer a full refund after the first session. If either you’ve never worked on pronunciation before, or you have a very strong accent you might find it better to start with our accent confidence course, which will give you more of a foundational grounding.
All sessions will be recorded and uploaded to the course pages so that you will be able to review them at your leisure and then ask us any questions that come up during the private Q&A sessions in our private online community.
When you buy this course, you get 4 x 90 minute live Zoom coaching calls, and 4 x live Zoom Q & A sessions, in order to answer any questions that arise related to the content of the course. You will also receive workbooks containing all of the material covered in the lessons, and homework exercises for you to work on to apply what you learn to your life outside of the lessons. We'll also issue a certificate of attendance for anyone who would like one.
Yes, you will! Groups are a great way to learn this work. Some of the most effective learning can happen by hearing someone else work on the same issue as you! It can sometimes be hard to hear what you’re doing yourself, but we have found that people can hear adjustments much more easily in someone else. You will also find yourself in a small group with other highly motivated learners of English. There’s no better way to improve your spoken English than by speaking English, especially with other learners who are focussing on the same issues as you, and will hold you accountable.
Definitely, yes! You may find you rely less on subtitles when you watch movies, and even actually enjoy talking on the phone.
We want you to be happy with your results and it can be hard for us to know if your language level is too high/low for this particular course. If you are unsure if this course is right for you, we would like to invite you to book and attend the first week and if it’s not what you are after, we will refund your fees, no questions asked!
I made so much progress with these classes and couldn't recommend them enough. I'm always impressed by how quickly accent problems are identified and detailed corrections given. I'm so glad I found you!

I didn’t believe I would be able to change my accent having spoken English for over twenty years, but I notice people don’t ask me to repeat myself as much any more. Helen & Sarah focussed on one sound at a time so I never felt overwhelmed. It made working on my accent achievable for me.
